This petition for bail in a case where the petitioner was arrested for having possession of 3 kgs of hashish oil was considered by this Court and an interim bail was granted for thirty days on 24.04.2023. The petitioner surrendered again on 20.05.2023 and she is in prison.
2. Learned Special Public Prosecutor states that totally three accused are involved in this case and seizure in a public place viz., Airport, the contraband was intended to transport across the country. Since the accused persons have not engaged counsel, there was delay in questioning them about the charges and the next date of hearing is on 16.08.2023.
3. Taking note of the gravity of the offence and the place of seizure, this Court is not inclined to extend any relief in this bail petition. Accordingly, this bail petition is dismissed.
4. The trial Court is directed to frame charges and proceed with the trial expeditiously and to complete the trial preferrably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 11.08.2023 rkp/veda https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
