..Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 4 to issue 'free patta' to the petitioner who hails from a rural area as per the orders of the Government of Tamilnadu relating to his agricultural landed properties comprised in Survey No.197/1, situated at Vellanur Village, Avadi Taluk, Tiruvallur District measuring to an extent of 1 Acre 95 cents or thereabouts, in accordance with the Revenue Standing order No.15-A within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court.

Mr.R.Govindasamy, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

The petitioner seeks for a Mandamus directing the respondents to issue free patta in respect of his agricultural landed properties comprised in Survey No.197/1, situated at Vellanur Village, Avadi Taluk, Tiruvallur District measuring to an extent of 1 Acre 95 cents or thereabouts, in accordance with the Revenue Standing order No.15-A based on his representation dated 20.05.2017.

4. The grievance of the petitioner is that the said request has not been considered so far. At this stage, this Court is not expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner as it is for the respondents to consider and decide the same on merits and in accordance with law. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 20.05.2017 and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the rival claimants, if any. Such exercise shall be done by the respondents within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
