PRAYER: Civil Revision Petition filed under Article 227 of Constitution of India, to direct the learned Principal Judge, Family Court, Chennai, to expedite the proceedings and pass final orders on merits in O.P.No.3652 of 2019 within a time frame.

O R D E R

The limited prayer sought for in this petition is for a direction to the trial Court to dispose of the proceedings in O.P.No.3652 of 2019, within the stipulated period.

2. The petitioner herein has filed O.P.No.3652 of 2019 under Section 13(1)(ia) of the Hindu Marriage Act, seeking dissolution of the marriage between the petitioner and the respondent, which was solemnized on 23.08.2017, on the grounds of cruelty and the said O.P.No.3652 of 2019, is pending on the file of the learned Principal Judge, Family Court, Chennai.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the materials placed before this Court.

4. On a perusal of the adjudication orders, it is seen that this matter has been adjourned finally to 03.03.2021 for filing counter and disposal. The entire nation has been facing the difficult situation of lock down for the past one year. Hence, this Court cannot pressurize the trial Court to dispose of the O.P.No.3652 of 2019. The Court below did not proceed further in this matter, due to the nation wide lock down. Originally the O.P., has been initiated in the year 2019, the same has been pending till date.

5. Hence, it would be appropriate to direct the learned Principal Judge, Family Court, Chennai, to dispose of the petition O.P.No.3652 of 2019, as expeditiously as possible as per the procedure established under law.

6. Accordingly, the Civil Revision Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
