ORDER

Heard Mr.Karthik representing Mr.Menon Karthik, appearing for the petitioner and Mr.Rajendraprasad, learned Government Advocate for R1 and R2 and with the consent of both sides, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2.Though the petitioner has sought to question the impugned order of suspension dated 20.03.2015, it is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the first respondent to dispose of the disciplinary proceedings arising out of the suspension, within a period of two months, on the ground that the petitioner was considered for promotion to the post of Deputy Inspector of Labour. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner there is no other impediment for the said promotion other than this proceedings.

3. Though one another proceeding is pending under Rule 17 (a) of the Tamil Nadu Civil Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, the same is not an impediment for promotion to the post of Deputy Inspector of Labour and the concerned authority, namely, the Deputy Inspector of Labour, recommended the case of the petitioner for promotion. The learned counsel for the petitioner has taken me to the relevant proceedings.

4. Considering the entire facts and circumstances of the case, the first respondent is directed to complete the disciplinary proceedings, arising out of the suspension order dated 20.03.2015, and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two months from today.

5. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. However, there is no order as to costs.
