2. The grievance of the petitioners is that the petitioners were enlisted as Grade II PC in Tamil Nadu Special Police Battalion and subsequently, transferred to Armed Reserve, Coimbatore and Nilgiris and thereafter, promoted as Grade I PC. The petitioners were further promoted as Head Constable. The petitioners have completed more than 6 years of service in the rank of Head Constable. The next level of promotion is in the rank of Sub-Inspector of Police. However, the persons junior to the petitioners who were enlisted as Grade II PC were shown as seniors than the petitioners in the rank of Head Constable. Therefore, the petitioners have given representations dated 03.10.2015, 01.03.2016 and 09.03.2016 after obtaining relevant information under the Right to Information Act. The said representations have not been considered till date. Hence, the petitioners have filed the present writ petitions.

3. Mr.A.Kumar, the learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents.

4. Considering the limited nature of prayer and taking note of the fact that the petitioners' juniors were shown as seniors to the petitioner, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioners' representation dated 03.10.2015, 01.03.2016 and 09.03.2016 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
