The petitioners who were arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 07.01.2024 for the offence registered under Sections 420 & 34 of IPC in Crime No.2 of 2024 on the file of the respondent Police, seek bail. 2.It is stated that the petitioners had introduced themselves as capable of giving free tailoring classes under Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Scheme and invited applications. It is further stated that 183 applications were received and they had charged Rs.250/- from each one of them. Thereafter, the respondent had come to know about this scam and enquired into the entire issue and had arrested the petitioners. 3.A Counter affidavit had been filed on behalf of the respondent and the learned Public Prosecutor (Pondicherry) stated that further investigation will have to be done to determine whether there are other individuals involved and the total number of persons who have been cheated. 4.At this stage, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioners. 5.Hence, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 28.02.2024 vkr https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis 1/2
