Mr.R.Govindasamy Special Government Pleader (in WP.Nos.6609 to 6611 of 2018) C O M M O N O R D E R All these writ petitions are filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to dispose of the respective appeals filed by the petitioners, arising out of the Arms Act, 1959.
2. Heard both sides.
3. The grievance of the petitioners before this Court is that those appeals have not been considered by the respondents so far. This Court, at this stage, is not expressing any view on the merits of the appeals filed by the petitioners, as it is for the first respondent to consider and decide the same on merits and in accordance with law. However, as it is stated that those appeals are still pending, these writ petitions are disposed of, only with a direction to the first respondent to consider those appeals and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, if those appeals are not yet disposed of, after giving due opportunity of hearing to the petitioners. Such exercise shall be done by the first respondent within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
