District.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Acting Chief Justice) The petitioner has filed the writ petition seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to drop the proceedings for issuance of free housing patta to the individuals in Saanar Kalam Waste Land in Survey No.64/1 at Ervadi Village, Nagapattinam Taluk and District.

2. When the matter is taken up today, learned Government Advocate, on instructions, submitted that the scheme for issuance of free housing patta, which is questioned by the petitioner, has already been dropped and nothing survives for adjudication in the present writ petition.

3. In view of the above, the writ petition stands disposed of with

liberty to the petitioner to approach the competent authority, if, in future, any pattas are issued in respect of the agricultural land. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.4732 of 2023 is closed.
