The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to grant police protection by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 02.02.2026 to permit the petitioner's family to conduct Mast Festival from 15.02.2026 to 18.02.2026 in Angalamman and Periyanayagi Amman Temple at Korakkavadi Village, Thittagudi Taluk, Cuddalore District. 1/4

When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police, on instructions from the Inspector of Police, Ramanatham Police Station, submitted that the petitioner is the Dharmakartha of the temple and has been conducting the temple festival during the Tamil month of Masi every year. He further submitted that the respondent police have been providing police protection for the said festival in the past and are ready to provide protection for the present year also, subject to certain conditions to be imposed. 3.The letter of the Inspector of Police, Ramanatham Police Station, is extracted hereunder:

In view of the above, the second respondent police is directed to provide adequate police protection for conducting the temple festival, subject to conditions to be imposed.
