Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus, forbearing the Respondents 1 to 4 from permitting the 5th respondent from conducting All India 7S Fedlight Football Tournament - 2024 from 17.02.2024 at the Pulic Playground of the 2nd respondent municipality at Pandalur, The Nilgiris District and consequently direct the Respondents 1 to 4 to permit the Petitioner to conduct the All India 7S Fedlight Football Tournament - 2024 from 17.02.2024 at the public playground of the 2nd respondent municipality at Pandalur, The Nilgiris District. ORDER
(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.K.Selvaraj, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.A.Edwin Prabhakar, learned State Government Pleader for respondents 1 to 4.
2. The present petition is filed seeking directions to restrain the fifth respondent from conducting the tournament.
3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was earlier granted with permission, however, the police authorities took objection. On one hand, objection was raised as against the petitioner, however, the fifth respondent has been granted permission. The same is illegal.
4. If the fifth respondent has obtained all the permissions required under the Regulations and the Law, then the petitioner cannot seek prayer to restrain the fifth respondent from conducting the tournament.
5. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that after rejection of the application filed by the petitioner, fresh application has already been filed.
6. The authorities may decide the said application in accordance with law, policy and regulation, preferably within a period of three months.
7. The writ petition, accordingly, stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.4112 of 2024 is closed.
