O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to dispose of the representation made by the petitioner on 04.02.2023, wherein the petitioner is seeking for appointment on compassionate ground.

2. Heard Mrs. S.Sasikala, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.C.K.Chandrasekar, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent.

3. The case of the petitioner is that his father was working in the respondent Public Sector Undertaking and he died on 07.03.1999 while he was in service. The petitioner made an application seeking for compassionate appointment. The petitioner was called for an interview and he also attended the interview and his Certificates were also verified. According to the petitioner, thereafter many representations were made by the petitioner seeking for appointment order and the same did not evoke any response. Left with no other alternative, the present Writ petition has been 2/5

filed before this Court.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the fact that the request made by the petitioner is long pending and the petitioner is already aged about 42 years, it will suffice if a direction is given to the respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 04.02.2023 and take a decision on its own merit and in accordance with law within a period of six (6) weeks and convey the same to the petitioner.

5. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the respondent along with all the relevant documents and also a copy of this order.

6. The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. 19.08.2024 jv 3/5
