Heard Mr.Ramachandran, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. The respondents CMWSSB is unrepresented, though the description of the parties is printed in the cause list.
2. The prayer of the petitioner is for a mandamus directing the respondents to give a sewerage connection to premises bearing Door No.5/4, Aasharkhana Street, Alandur, Chennai-600 016 (property in question).
3.The petitioner would claim to be in possession and enjoyment of the property in question having remitted property https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
tax and water connection charges. Despite regular requests to the respondents to obtain a drainage connection, no connection has been given thus far, on account of objections expressed in this regard by one Ms.S.Jarina. He claims to be entirely unconnected to the objector. Neither is she arrayed as a respondent.
4.In such circumstances, the petitioner may, if he so desires, make an application in line with applicable rules and regulations seeking sewerage connection and such application, if and when filed, shall be acted upon by the respondents in accordance with law expeditiously and at any rate within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of the same. This writ petition is disposed as above. No costs.
