Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 08.09.2014 and thereby direct the respondent to provide employment opportunity to the petitioner in the respondent department according to his educational qualification by giving preference to the petitioner that his land in Survey No.53/1 to an extent of 1.18 acres and Survey No.53/3 to an extent of 1.28 acres of agricultural land at Ariyagoundampatti, Salem Taluk and District which was acquired under the land acquisition proceedings for establishment of the respondent steel plant by treating the petitioner under the land loser category.

O R D E R

The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking a direction to the respondent to consider his representation dated 08.09.2014 and to provide employment to him in the respondent department by giving preference under the land loser category.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the agricultural lands in Survey No.53/1 to an extent of 1.18 acres and Survey No.53/3 to an extent of 1.28 acres at Ariyagoundampatti, Salem Taluk and District belonging to the petitioner's ancestors, were acquired by the Revenue Authorities for establishment of the respondent Steel Plant on https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the assurance that the land losers or their legal heirs will get the benefit of job opportunity in the respondent Steel Plant. Hence, the petitioner made a representation dated 08.09.2014 to the respondent seeking employment under the land loser category and since there was no response, has come forward to file this writ petition.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the respondent fairly submitted that the respondent would consider the representation of the petitioner, if not already considered, on merits, within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

4.In view of the above, this Court directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 08.09.2014, if not already considered, and pass appropriate orders, under the land loser category, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
