[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondents to produce petitioner's daughter Ananthavalli, aged about 40 years, before this Court and set her at liberty. 2.

It is the case of the petitioner that her daughter Ananthavalli, aged about 40 years, went missing from 02.05.2020 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her.

Today, Ms.S.Viji, Woman Grade I-39376, T-14, Mangadu Police Station, Mangadu, Chennai, is present. 4.

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Mangadu Police Station Crime No.1369 of 2020 for 'woman missing' was registered on 09.10.2020 and the investigation is in progress. He further submitted that the enquires conducted so far revealed that Ananthavalli (detenue) has eloped with one Umapathy, who is a married man. In view of the above, this habeas corpus petition is closed with a direction to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Chennai, to monitor the investigation in Mangadu Police Station Crime No.1369 of 2020 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenu Ananthavalli, aged about 40 years, is secured, she may be produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court, Sriperumbudur, under intimation to the petitioner.
