The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 13.01.2026, for the offences punishable under Sections 296(b), 115(2), 118(1), 126(2), 311, 351(3) of BNS Act, in Crime No.289 of 2025, registered on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail. 1/4

2.The case of the prosecution is that on 04.09.2025 at about 1.00 p.m., when the defacto complainant, along with his friends, was consuming alcohol near Annanur Car Shed, the petitioner, along with other accused, waylaid him and demanded money. When he refused, the petitioner assaulted him with a knife and robbed Rs.950/- at knife point and then escaped. Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered, and the petitioner was arrested on 13.01.2026.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was not aware of the alleged robbery and has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide by any stringent conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prayed for the grant of bail to the petitioner.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondent reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the petitioner has seven previous cases and that the investigation in the present case is pending. Hence, he opposed the grant of bail to the petitioner. 2/4

5.I have also perused the FIR and other connected materials, which reveal that this is a case of robbery. Considering that the petitioner has seven previous cases, this Court is not inclined to entertain the bail application. 6.Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 11.02.2026 gbi To 1.The Inspector of Police, Thirumullaivoyal Police Station Thiruvallur District.
