ORDER

The prayer in this Writ Petition is to direct the Respondents 1 and 2 to dispose of the representation of the Petitioners, dated 5.1.2011 and 2.2.2011 by providing a separate electricity connection to the portion belonging to the Petitioners at New No.15/1, Moopan Maistry Street, Vardharajapettai, 1st Street, Kodambakkam, Chennai-24.

2. This court heard the learned counsel on either side and also perused the materials placed on record.

The grievance of the Petitioners is that the 3rd Respondent had disconnected the electricity supply for the portions belonging to the Petitioners at the petition mentioned premises and illegally transferred the electricity connections for the said premises. Hence, the Petitioners had made a complaint dated 2.2.2011 to the Respondents 1 and 2 to take immediate action. Since there was no action on the part of the Respondents 1 and 2, this Writ Petition has been filed, seeking the relief as stated above.

However, during the course of the arguments, the learned counsel for the Petitioners has submitted that the Petitioner may be permitted to make a fresh representation to the Respondents 1 and 2 in this regard and it is suffice that the said representation may be directed to be disposed of by them, within a specified time.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions of the learned counsel on either side and the limited prayer now sought for by the learned counsel for the Petitioners , the Petitioner is permitted to make a fresh representation to the Respondents 1 and 2, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and if any such representation is received within the said period, the Respondents 1 and 2 shall consider the same and pass orders, after giving sufficient opportunity to the parties concerned, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks thereafter.
