ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed seeking issuance of mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.12.2025 and to furnish the documents mentioned in the charge memo issued in Rc.No.1946087/2024/PA5 dated 13.12.2025 within a reasonable time.

2. With the consent of the learned counsel appearing on either side, this Writ Petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner entered service as Panchayat Assistant in the year 1996 thereafter, serving as Junior Assistant in the Poonamalle Panchayat from the year 2016. However, he was promoted as Assistant in the year 2019. While so, he was implicated in the criminal case in Crime No.1 of 2024 dated 08.04.2024 under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act on the basis of the complaint from one Elayarajan as if the petitioner demanded a sum of Rs.20,000/-for getting regularization for his unapproved plot. Thereafter, the respondent issued a charge memo. However, during the enquiry, the petitioner sent a representation dated 27.12.2025 seeking to furnish documents relating to the alleged transaction. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition is filed.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, there will be a direction to the respondent to furnish the documents as sought by the petitioner, if it is available with them, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 27.12.2025 within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and conclude the disciplinary proceedings as expeditiously as possible.
