Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to dispose of the petitioner's last representation dated 02.11.2015 and consequently direct the respondent to provide a room in the Corporation Building to the petitioner's Union.

Heard Mr.M.Chidambaram, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.P.V.Selvakumar, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Corporation.

2.With the consent of the learned counsel appearing on either side, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal, at the admission stage itself.

3.The petitioner is a Trade Union said to have consists of Members who are Conservancy staff working in the Corporation of Chennai. The Trade Union has been registered in the year 2008 with Registration No.3276/2008. The petitioner seeks for a https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

direction upon the respondent Corporation to provide a room for their Union office.

4.It has to be pointed out that the manner in which the premises owned by the respondent Corporation has to be maintained, managed or allotted are solely within the realm of the respondent Corporation. The issue is purely an administrative issue, within the discretion of the respondent Corporation and hence this Court is not inclined to issue any direction as sought for by the petitioner. Though the petitioner Union is said to have sent a representation 02.11.2015 seeking room for their Union activities, separate accommodation has not been given for their Union office. Therefore, all that the petitioner can do is to pursue their representation with the respondent, which shall be considered by the respondent in accordance with law.

5.The writ petition is dismissed with the above observation. No costs.
