: Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records of the 4th respondent in relation to the proceedings issued in No. Nil dt 1.4.2015 and quash the same and issue a consequential direction to the respondent No.3 to approve the promotion of the petitioner as P.G.Assistant in Tamil as per the order dt 9.6.2013 issued by the 4th respondent with consequential benefits.

By consent, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

After making submissions on merit, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that as the order under challenge is appealable to the Joint Director of School Education, (Higher Secondary), Directorate of School Education, Chennai, liberty may be given to exhaust the said remedy. 3.
Considering the same, the petitioner is given four weeks time to file such an appeal. As and when, such an appeal, if any, is received from the petitioner, the Joint Director of School Education, (Higher Secondary), Directorate of School Education, Chennai, is directed to consider and dispose of the same within a period of three months thereafter, after affording an opportunity to the parties concerned. Till then, status quo, as on today, shall be maintained. However, it is made clear that the interim order of status quo shall not have any bearing on the disposal of the main appeal.
4. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
