This Writ Petition has been filed for direction directing the respondents to promote the petitioners on ad-hoc basis to the cadre of Joint Commissioners as in the case of petitioners' juniors for the present pending regular promotions.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.
3. It is seen that since the petitioners had attained the age of superannuation and retired from service, therefore, the prayer sought for in this writ petition has become infructuous. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
