PRAYER : Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for a writ of mandamus, forbearing the respondents from interfering with the day-to-day practice of Acupuncture System of Treatment by the members of the petitioner association. This writ petition has been filed for a writ of mandamus, forbearing the respondents from interfering with the day-to-day practice of Acupuncture System of Treatment by the members of the petitioner association

2. It is the case of the writ petitioner that the petitioner association is consisting of practitioners of Acupuncture System of therapy and they are practising in Acupuncture and have got relevant certificate granted by the Bharathiyar University. It is the further case of the petitioner that, in order to safeguard the interest of the members of the association, the writ petition has been filed in the nature of writ of prohibition and also for a direction in the nature of writ of mandamus forbearing the respondents not to interfere with the Page No:2/5

day-to-day practice of Acupuncture System of Treatment by the members of the petitioner association.

3. As long as the petitioner organization or the members of the petitioner organization practising the Acupuncture System of therapy legally, the police shall not interfere. However, if the police finds that any offence is committed or any illegality is committed, then they have the full right to take action in accordance with law.

4. With the above observation, the writ petition is disposed of. However, there is no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected writ miscellaneous petition is closed.
