ORDER
This petition is filed seeking direction to the respondent to ensure that Mr.Saravanakumaran, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Salem District continues as the Investigating Officer in Crime No. 03/2025 until completion of the investigation,
2. The petitioner is the de facto complainant on whose complaint a case has been registered in Cr.No.3 of 2025 on 13.03.2025 for the offences under Section 468, 471, 419 & 420 IPC against six persons. On 31.01.2026, the petitioner had sent a request to the respondent to retain the same Investigation Officer Mr.K.Saravanakumaran, Deputy Superintendent of Police to continue with the investigation.
3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent produced the draft charge sheet stating that in this case investigation is completed and on conclusion of investigation three more persons have been added as accused and now there are totally 9 accused in this case against whom charge sheet has been made ready for offences under Section 468, 471, 420 IPC r/w. Sections 120(b), 201, 34 of IPC r/w.472 Cr/P.C. the Directorate of Prosecution has also approved the draft charge sheet. He further submitted that the charge sheet would be filed within a period of three weeks after the
commencement of Tamil Nadu Legislative Election. i.e. 23.04.2026.
4. Since investigation has been completed in this case and charge sheet is going to be filed in the near future, the relief sought by the petitioner has become infructuous.
5. Recording the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed.
