The petitioner herein apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Section 4(1)(i) and 4(1)(A) of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Amendment Act, 2024 in Crime No.19 of 2026 on the file of the respondent Police, seeks anticipatory bail. 1/4
2. The allegation against the petitioner is that the petitioner was found in possession of 180 ml of 120 liquor bottles without valid licence. Hence, the complaint.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that, petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prayed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that, apart from this case, petitioner has two previous cases. Hence, he opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
5. Heard the learned counsels on either side and perused the materials available on record.
6. Considering the gravity of the offence committed by the petitioner, and also the bad antecedents against the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 2/4
