Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to take action on petitioner's representation dated 21.09.2019 by removing the illegal encroachment to the extent of 700 sq.ft., (approx) put up by the respondents 3 and 4 in Survey No.409 of Old Gummudipoondi Village, on Gummudipoondi GNT Road, State Highways. O R D E R

[ORDER OF THE COURT WAS MADE BY S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.] With reference to the prayer sought for in the present writ petition, the learned Special Government Pleader, appearing on behalf of the respondents 1 and 2, based on the instructions given by the Assistant Divisional Engineer, Highways Department, Gummudipoondi dated

30.01.2024 states that actions were initiated to remove the encroachments.

2. The letter furnished by the learned Special Government Pleader, appearing on behalf of the respondents 1 and 2, would indicate that the Authorities have decided to evict the encroachers on 01.02.2024.

3. Therefore, the respondents 1 and 2 are directed to evict the encroachers, if not already evicted, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
