ORDER

The relief sought for in this writ petition is to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.12.2020 and carry out the correction in the Death Certificate bearing No.67950 B & D No.206031/2003 dated 13.06.2003, in respect of her name as G.Chakravarthy instead of G.Chandrasekaran.

2.It is the case of the petitioner that due to illness, her husband by name, G.Chakravarthy died on 31.07.2002 in Ayesha Hospital, Millers Road, Kilpauk, Chennai - 10. Subsequently, she was issued with a death certificate bearing No.67950, B&D No.206031/2003 dated 13.06.2003 pertaining to her husband by the third respondent, wherein, the name of the petitioner's husband was wrongly mentioned as G.Chandrasekaran, instead of G.Chakravarthy. Hence, she made a representation dated 28.10.2020 to the respondents seeking necessary correction in the death certificate of her husband. Following the same, she made another representation on 22.12.2020, which was also kept pending, without any action. Therefore, this writ petition. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner submitted application as early as on 28.10.

2020 seeking correction in the death certificate as regards her husband's name, which was not considered by the respondents, till date. The learned counsel further submitted that the petitioner is now ready and willing to produce all the required documents in support of her claim, to the respondents and hence, appropriate direction may be issued to the respondents to receive the documents to be furnished by the petitioner and consider her claim as expeditiously as possible. 4.On the other hand, the learned standing counsel appearing for the respondents fairly submitted that the respondent authorities would consider the claim of the petitioner and pass orders, in the light of the documents produced, within a reasonable time to be fixed by this Court.

5.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court directs the petitioner to produce all necessary documents along with a fresh representation seeking correction in the death certificate with respect to her husband's name, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On such production, the respondent authorities shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law and also in the light of the documents furnished by the petitioner, within a period of six (6) weeks thereafter.

6.This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
