Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to provide an alternative hygienic tenement at Perumbakkam consequence to Token Identity No.1810 dated 30.05.2010 within a stipulated time.

O R D E R

The petitioner seeks for a Mandamus directing the respondents to provide an alternative hygienic tenement at Perumbakkam, Tambaram Taluk, Kancheepuram District.

2.The case of the petitioner is as follows:- The petitioner was residing in a land measuring an extent of 600 sq. ft. in Survey No.538 by putting up thatched shed. The second respondent evicted the petitioner as early as in the year 2010 with a promise to built and provide a house at Perumbakkam. The petitioner was also given an Identity Card No.1810 dated 30.05.2010 with an assurance to give an alternate hygienic tenement built by the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board. Even though such assurance was given as early as 2010 till this date the petitioner is not provided by such alternate tenement. Ventilating such grievance the petitioner has already made a representation on 05.04.2018. The said representation has not been considered so far.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the respondents-Board submitted that the request of the petitioner will be considered and appropriate order will be passed without loss of further time.

4.Considering the above said facts and circumstances, this writ petition is disposed of, by directing the respondents-Board to look into the grievance of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
