Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the third respondent to furnish the copy of the Survey report and FMB sketch for the petitioner land situated at Chennai District, Sholinganallur Taluk, Pallikkaranai Village, bearing Patta No.6641, comprised in S.No.151/2A2C measuring an extent 1/4

of 1.50 ares as per Survey conducted on 12.07.2022 and consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.12.2022. For Petitioner :

ORDER

The relief sought for in this Writ Petition is to furnish a copy of the survey report and FMB sketch for the petitioner's land situated at Chennai District, Sholinganallur Taluk, Pallikkaranai Village, bearing Patta No.6641, comprised in S.No.151/2A2C

2. The citizen of this great Nation is expected to seek such documents from the competent authority by availing the benefits of provisions of the Right to Information Act. Contrarily, they are not expected to file a Writ Petition before the High Court for securing such public documents. The Right to Information Act provides a time limit for providing certain public documents.

3. That being the benefit of the Act, the petitioner is at liberty to submit an appropriate application for securing the documents which all are otherwise permissible.
