ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to quash the FIR in Cr.No.19 of 2024 on the file of the first respondent Police.

2. On the complaint lodged by the second respondent, the first

respondent registered FIR in Crime No.19 of 2024 for the offences punishable under Sections 294(b), 323, 506(i) of IPC read with Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act alleging that the petitioner is residing in the ground floor and the second respondent is residing upstairs in the flats and there was a dispute between them. While being so, on 20.01.2024, at about 05.30 p.m, the petitioner had beaten the second respondent and also scolded her with filthy languages. For the very same occurrence, the petitioner also lodged a complaint and the same has been registered in Crime No.18 of 2024 on the file of the first respondent for the offences punishable under Sections 294(b), 323, 506(i) of IPC read with Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act and it is pending. In fact, in both the FIRs allegations are one and the same. That apart, there is a civil suit pending between them in C.S.No.604 of 2019, on the file of this Court.

3. A perusal of the allegations revealed that all are trivial in nature and no injury has been sustained by both the parties. There was a wordy quarrel between them. That apart, both the FIRs are pending for nearly 1 1⁄2 years. Therefore, merely keeping the FIRs pending would not serve any purpose.

4. In view of the above, in order to meet the ends of justice, this Court is inclined to quash both the FIRs in Crime Nos.18 and 19 of 2024 on the file

of the first respondent.

5. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous petition is closed. 25.03.2025 Internet:Yes Index:Yes/No Speaking/Non speaking order mn To
