COMMON PRAYER : The writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of declaration to declare the action initiated by the first respondent in R.C.No.1765/86C dated 15.06.1990 declaring the lands comprised in No.175, 173 Selaiyur Village, Saidapet Taluk, Chengalpattu District in Survey No.379/3G, 379/3L & 379 3/I and presently located within the municipal limits of Ward No.21 of

Selaiyur Tambaram Municipality to an extent of 49.5 cents under the Tamil Nadu Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation)Act, 1978 as excess vacant lands as illegal, unconstitutional and consequently, declare the petitioner as the owner of the lands in question in the light of the provisions contained in Tamil Nadu Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Repeal Act 20 of 1999. Today, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners in all W.Ps. is not interested to prosecute the writ petitions. Therefore, the writ petitions are dismissed for default. In case, the petitioners file any restoration petition, the Registry should not take the restoration petition on file unless they pay a cost of Rs.1,00,000/- to the credit of The Chief Justice Relief Fund, High Court, Madras.
