O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to complete the enquiry that was initiated pursuant to the representation made by the petitioner wherein the petitioner is seeking for the cancellation of change of name in the Patta.

2.The case of the petitioner is that originally the property belonged to the paternal grand mother of the petitioner and thereafter, the petitioner and his brother are continuing to enjoy the property. The revenue records stood in the name of the petitioner's grand mother. However, the petitioner found that at the time of computerization of records, the name of one Pattamma

is reflected in the revenue records. According to the petitioner, Pattammal is no way related with the property. Therefore, the petitioner made a representation to the respondent to make necessary change in the revenue records. According to the petitioner, after the representation was made, enquiry was conducted by the 1st respondent. However, no steps were taken to change the name in the revenue records. Therefore, the petitioner made a representation on 15.05.2018. Since the same did not evoke any response, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

3.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents. 4.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and also the limited relief that has been sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the 1st respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 15.05.2018 and pass appropriate orders strictly in accordance with law and if necessary by issuing notice to the appropriate parties, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the 1st respondent along with a copy of the representation dated 15.05.2018 and a copy of this order.

5.This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No Costs.
