ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for direction to the respondents to consider the application submitted by the petitioner for marriage stipend under Moovalur Ramaamirtham Ammaiyar Memorial Marriage Stipend Scheme.

2.

While pending the writ petition, the District Social Welfare Officer of Kancheepuram has been impleaded as the fourth respondent. 3.

The petitioner's marriage was fixed on 12.02.2017. Therefore, the petitioner's father had applied for stipend under Moovalur Ramaamirtham Ammaiyar Memorial Marriage Stipend Scheme on 2/6

10.02.2017 through online 'e-seva portal' which is developed by the Government of Tamilnadu. While uploading the application, the petitioner's father annexed the income certificate, native certificate, marriage invitation, voter identity, ration card, etc along with necessary receipts obtained from various authorities. After uploading of the documents which are required to claim stipend, the petitioner's father was issued acknowledgment. However, without any reason, the application submitted by the petitioner's father was rejected. 4.

The first respondent filed counter and the learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that the petitioner's father failed to annex the income certificate while uploading the application seeking stipend under the Moovalur Ramaamirtham Ammaiyar Memorial Marriage Stipend Scheme.

5.

On perusal of records, the petitioner produced income certificate and the Zonal Deputy Tahsildar certified that the petitioner's family had only Rs.72,000/- as their yearly income. Therefore, the 3/6

petitioner is entitled for marriage stipend under Moovalur Ramaamirtham Ammaiyar Memorial Marriage Stipend Scheme.

6.

In view of the above, the fourth respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 20.12.2021 after giving opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and also on verification of her family's income at the time of her marriage, and to pass orders to disburse the stipend under Moovalur Ramaamirtham Ammaiyar Memorial Marriage Stipend Scheme, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

7.

With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
