(Order of the Court was made by T.S.SIVAGNANAM, J.) Heard Mr.N.Anand Venkatesh, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.T.S.Moorthy, learned Government Pleader, accepting notice on behalf of respondents.

2.This Public Interest Litigation has been filed seeking for a direction to the second respondent, namely, The Deputy Director of Town Panchayats, Coimbatore, to take action on the petitioner's representation dated 12.01.2015, within a reasonable time. 3.The petitioner, in his representation, has expressed concern over the abrupt abandonment of a canal, which was being formed and the petitioner has stated that substantial amount of money was spent for formation of the canal, but all of a sudden, the respondents have abandoned the entire project. The petitioner alleges that the work has been abruptly stopped to favour a set of private individuals for their personal gain. In this regard, the representation is pending before the authorities.

4.Learned Government Pleader submitted that a reasonable time may be granted to the first respondent to consider the representation on merits and in accordance with law.

5.Accordingly, there will be a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation dated 12.01.2015 of the petitioner and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
