Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records made in Proceedings No. Se.Mu.Na.Ka.1622/a1/2012 dated 02.09.2012 on the file of the 1st respondent herein and quash the same and further direct the 1st respondent herein to appoint the petitioner herein as Anganvadi Assistant for the Centre at Thulukkankuttai, Pernampet, Vellore District.

ORDER
This writ petition has been filed questioning the proceedings dated 02.09.2012 whereby, the 3rd respondent herein was appointed as Anganvadi Assistant for the centre at Thulukkankuttai, Pernampet, Vellore District pursuant to the selection conducted by the respondents, on the ground that the petitioner herein is more meritorious than the 3rd respondent, but the respondents have failed to select the petitioner and in an arbitrary manner the 3rd respondent was selected.

The learned Judge of this Court, after having heard the matter on 24.07.2024, passed the following docket order and directed the respondents to produce the interview team report. The said docket order reads as under: "The proceedings in Se.Mu.Na.Ka.1622/a1/2012 dated 02.09.2012 issued by the 1st respondent is under challenge and for further direction is sought to appoint the petitioner herein as Anganvadi Assistant for the centre at Thulukkankuttai, Pernampet, Vellore District. 2.Heard Mr.V.Nanmaran, the learned government advocate appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 and Page No.2 of 6
perused the materials available on record.
3.The petitioner in her affidavit has averred that she made an application for Anganvadi Assistant for the centre at Thulukkankuttai, Pernampet, Vellore District. She has better qualification that that 3rd respondent for the aforesaid post.

This Court, after having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner on 03.09.2024, directed the respondents to produce the record pertaining to the selection process and accordingly, the original record is placed before this Court today i.e.,06.09.2024 by Mr.P.Kumaresan, learned Additional Advocate General. 3.
This Court has perused the record and the record discloses that the petitioner has expressed during the course of interview that, she cannot read and write and the same was accordingly taken note and entered in the record against the name of the petitioner. In view of the same, the petitioner was awarded zero marks.

In the light of the above, the contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner is more meritorious than the 3rd respondent cannot be accepted and there is no material placed before this Court to Page No.3 of 6
substantiate the said contention.

In the light of the above, this Court does not find any merit in the writ petition and the same is accordingly, dismissed. The connected miscellaneous petitions, if any shall stand closed. No costs. 06.09.2024 Index :
