..Respondent/Complainant Prayer:- Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to direct the respondent to complete the investigation and file final report before the learned XVIII Metropolitan Magistrate, Saidapet, within a stipulated time in respect of Crime No.531 of 2017 on the file of the respondent police.

ORDER

The petitioner lost his Car and on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Crime No.531 of 2017 has been registered on 24.03.2017 under Section 379 of IPC against unknown accused. While so, the petitioner has filed the present petition for a direction to the respondent Police to complete the investigation in Crime No.531 of 2017 within a stipulated time.

2.In the opinion of this Court, in cases of theft, where the accused is unknown, a direction as prayed for by the petitioner cannot be granted. However, the respondent police is directed to complete the investigation as expeditiously as possible. The Assistant Commissioner of Police is also directed to monitor the investigation in Crime No.531 of 2017. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is closed.
