This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents police not to harass the petitioner in the guise of enquiry.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing, Mr.V.Meghanathan, learned Government Advocate (criminal side) appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's friend is an accused in Crime No.5 of 2022 registered for the offences under Sections 3, 5, 7(3) of the Lotteries (Regulation) Act, 1998. The respondents police approached the petitioner to know about the whereabouts of the petitioner's friend/accused. He would further submit the respondents police are not harassing the petitioner.
