Mr.L.Jaivenkatesh, Standing Counsel for R1 to R4 Order The petitioner has filed the writ petition seeking direction to the 4th respondent to complete the shifting and replacement of the existing electricity line by considering petitioner representation to the respondents 1 to 4 dated 02.01.2026.

It is the case of the petitioner that they have paid the requisite charges for shifting and replacement of the electricity line and they have installed three new electricity poles on the boundaries of the petitioner's property for shifting and replacement. All of a sudden, the official respondents have stopped the work on the basis of a mere legal notice issued by the 5th respondent, which has not been backed by any orders of Court. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. Heard both sides and also perused the materials available on record.

4. It is admitted that the respondents have completed the installation of three number of electric poles for shifting the existing electricity line and these poles are situated at the edge of the petitioner's property, over which, the petitioner has no right. It is clear that the 5th respondent has not obtained any orders from the Court, restraining the installation of the new lines. Merely on the basis of the legal notice, the work has been stopped, that too, after the respondents have received requisite charges from the petitioner for the shifting and replacement of the electricity line.

5. Since the common pathway is not affected in any manner by the new alignment, the 4th respondent is directed to complete the shifting and replacement of the existing electricity line and if the Electricity Board officials need police protection, the jurisdictional police shall give necessary protection to the EB official on their request. The exercise of laying the electricity line shall be completed within a period of two weeks from today.

6. This Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
