ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by V.SIVAGNANAM, J.] Seeking a direction to the respondent to produce the petitioner's son M.Praveen, aged about 20 years, before this Court and to set him at liberty, the present habeas corpus petition has been filed.

2.It is the case of the petitioner that his son Praveen, aged about 20 years, went missing since 05.02.2020 and that the police have not taken effective steps to secure him. 3.Today, Mr.N.Sivakumar, Head Constable, T5 Thiruverkadu Police Station, Chennai is present.

4.On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

in Thiruverkadu Police Station Crime No.53 of 2020 has been registered for 'man missing' and the investigation is in progress. Investigation conducted so far revealed that Praveen was studying in S.K.R. Engineering College, Nasarathpet and that he wanted to renounce the world and become an ascetic. Hence on account of this urge in him, he left his home. 5.In view of the above, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Poonamallee to monitor the investigation in Thiruverkadu Police Station Crime No.53 of 2020 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenu is secured, he may be produced before the Judicial Magistrate II, Poonamallee, under intimation to the petitioner.
