This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to quash the FIR in Crime No.659 of 2020 on the file of the respondent Police. 1\4
2.The petitioner/accused No.1 along with others is said to have participated in the protest held near the Ceylon High Commission on Sterling Road, Nungambakkam, Chennai, to express the grievance relating to oppression of Tamils in Srilanks and to submit a petition to the concerned authorities. As the protest is said to have held without getting prior permission and in violation of the proclamation under Section 144 Cr.P.C., the complaint came to be lodged.
3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent submitted that initially a case was registered by the respondent and after investigation, 'Further Action Dropped' report was filed on 25.09.2020.
4.In view of the above, nothing survives for adjudication in the petition and hence, the same is closed. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
