ORDER
This writ petition has been filed to direct the first respondent to refer the matter for determination of the compensation in respect of the award dated 31.03.2025 passed by the second respondent to the competent Court as per the provisions of Section 20 of the Tamil Nadu Highways Act, 2001 based on the petitioner's representation dated 15.07.2025 within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
2. The petitioner unsatisfied with the quantum of compensation awarded under the award dated 31.03.2025 passed by the second respondent seeks for a reference to the competent Court as per the provisions of Section 20 of the Tamil Nadu Highways Act, 2001. The petitioner had given a representation on 15.07.2025 to the first respondent for the said purpose. Since the said representation has not been considered till date, this writ petition has been filed.
3. Mr. D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
4. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents if the petitioner's representation as stated supra is directed to be considered on merits and in accordance with law by the first respondent within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
5. For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the first respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner's representation dated 15.07.2025, seeking for reference under Section 20 of the Tamil Nadu Highways Act, 2001 to the competent Court in respect of the award dated 31.03.2025 passed by the second respondent within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. No Costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
