.. Respondents PRAYER : Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to take appropriate action and pass final orders in the petitioner's appeal dated 05.05.2017, within time stipulated by this Court.

By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up and disposed of at the stage of admission itself.
2. The petitioner while serving as Inspector of Police, Pothanur D-3 [P-13] Police Station in Coimbatore, suffered a departmental proceedings initiated under Rule 3[b] of the Tamilnadu Police Subordinate Services [Discipline and Appeal] Rules, 1955, which finally ended in imposition of punishment of stoppage of increment for three years with cumulative effect. against the impugned order dated 11.04.2017 imposing the aforesaid punishment, the petitioner has filed the Appeal dated 05.05.2017 and the same is pending. Since the said Appeal has not been disposed of, the petitioner is before this Court.
3. Heard Mr.R.Subburaj, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.R.S.Selvam, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, who sought reasonable time to consider the appeal made by the petitioner.
4. Considering the limit relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the appeal of the petitioner dated 05.05.2017 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With this direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
