By consent the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2.The petitioner applied for gun licence to the second respondent to protect the crops raised in the agricultural lands from being damaged by the invading animals and he was also issued with a valid licence for possession of S.B.B.L. gun and the period of licence was expired on 31.1.2011. Even prior to the expiry of the gun licence, the petitioner submitted an application to the second respondent on 15.11.2011 for renewal of the gun licence for a further period of two years and he has also appeared for the personal enquiry. However, the second respondent, vide order dated 6.11.2012 has rejected the application for renewal of gun licence. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner filed an appeal to the first respondent on 5.12.2012 and the same was returned for certain compliance and https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

after compliance, the it was submitted on 18.1.2013. The grievance of the petitioner is that though nearly two years have lapsed and inspite of the reminders, the appeal has not been taken up for hearing and given disposal by the first respondent and on account of the same, the standing crops are destroyed by the invading animals. Hence, the petitioner prays for appropriate orders directing the first respondent to dispose of the appeal within a stipulated time.

3. Heard Mr.V.Subbiah, the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents.

4. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner and without entering upon the merits of the appeal, directs the first respondent to consider and dispose of the appeal memorandum/petition submitted by the petitioner on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders as expeditiously as possible not later than four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and inform the decision taken to the petitioner.

5. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
