Respondents Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to withdraw from the acquisition and transfer to the petitioners, the original owners, the property, situated at Marutheri Village, Gingee Taluk, Villupuram District, comprised in Ayyan Punja Survey Nos.16/2A-0.75.0 hecatre, 16/2A-0.42.0 hectare, 16/4A-0.10.0 hectare, and 16/4A-0.01.0 hectare, in all, totally an extent of 1.28.0 hectare, as demanded in the petitioners' representation, dated 03.01.2014. Petitioners, whose lands have been acquired in the year 1985, had approached the authorities with several https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
representations, requesting for reconveyance of their lands, stating that for more than 25 years, the lands have not been utilised, and none of their representations has been considered. Therefore, the petitioners, having left with no other option, have filed this Writ Petition, in the year 2014.
2. Though respondents have been served, no counter affidavit has been filed, and, for almost two years, this Writ Petition has been pending.
3. In the light of the above facts and circumstances of the case, the petitioners are directed to submit copies of their representations, dated 04.11.2011 and 03.01.2014, to the second respondent, and, on receipt of the said representations, the second respondent shall consider the same and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks.
