Respondent in both Contempt Petitions Common Prayer: Contempt petitions filed under section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act to punish the respondent for willful disobedience of the order dated 30.09.2010 passed in WP No.32995 of 2006.

For Petitioner in both Contempt Petitions : Mr.N.G.R.Prasad For Respondent in both Contempt Petitions : Mr.P.Srinivas Senior Counsel for Municipality COMMON ORDER These Contempt petitions have been filed by the petitioner for willful disobedience of the order of this Court in WP No.32995 of 2006, dated 30.09.2010 passed by

the respondent.

2. On 30.09.2010, this Court passed the following order:

" Learned counsel for the second respondent prays for time to implement the order of this Court. The second respondent is directed to comply with the order of this Court within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."

Mrs.P.Janaki Raveendran, Commissioner, Thanjavur City Municipal Corporation, is present in Court. The Commissioner stated that arrears of salary to be given to two petitioners. The difference in salary would be paid to the petitioners within four weeks from today. The respondents will pay the difference in salary to the petitioners on or before 30.10.2019.

4. The Commissioner also states that vacancies are likely to arise in the year 2020. The Corporation, is, therefore directed to appoint petitioners in the future vacancy, in compliance with the orders of this Court dated 05.08.2019.

5. Recording the undertaking of the Commissioner, these Contempt Petitions are closed.
