ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest for the alleged offences under Sections 296(b), 115(2), 132, and 351(3) of BNS 2023, in Crime No.337 of 2025, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner belonged to a particular party, and he objected to the road laying under the Government Scheme and also picked a quarrel with the Block Development Officer/de-facto complainant and abused him in filthy language and threatened him with dire consequences. Hence, the case.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondent.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the occurrence took place on 31.10.2025. According to the petitioner, the entire occurrence took place as he questioned the quality of the road, and thereby, the false complaint has been registered against him.

At this juncture, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent would strongly oppose the anticipatory bail application on the ground that this petitioner has assaulted a public servant, namely, the Block Development Officer (BDO); and that he has got five previous cases in Crime No. 97 of 2020, Salem Town Police Station; Crime No. 12 of 2022, Pallapatti Police Station; Crime No. 309 of 2023, Attur Police Station; and Crime Nos. 353 and 368 of 2024, Kondalampatti Police Station.

6. From the above detailing of the crime numbers, this Court could able to see the conduct and character of the petitioner. The criminal antecedents palpably demonstrate that he is of the person misusing the liberty and subverting the justice. Therefore, this Court is of the firm view that he does not deserve anticipatory bail. Hence, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

7. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 07-04-2026 dk
