ORDER

The petition has been filed to call for the records or any other appropriate writ to quash the communication dated 15.10.2025 and direct the respondent to publish the petitioner's changed name RANINA REDDY in the Official Gazette

by accepting the documents presently available with the petitioner in order to enable the petitioner to regularise her identity in all official records. 2.It is the case of the petitioner that she was originally known as 'Sai Manjula Devi' and now, she wants to change her name as 'Ranina Reddy' in the official Gazette by accepting the documents presently available with her. Per contra, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent would submit that the petitioner had not submitted any of the requisite documents to prove that she was 'Sai Manjula Devi' and therefore, they are not in a position to change her name in the official Gazette without any valid documents provided by the petitioner.

3.Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

4.Considering the submissions made on both sides, this Court directs the petitioner to produce the document to show that she was originally known as 'Sai Manjula Devi'. The petitioner stated that she possess an earlier PAN Card where her name was stated as 'Sai Manju'. Therefore, the petitioner is directed to represent the application along with the said PAN Card and other documents and also file an affidavit explaining how she was originally known as 'Sai Manjula Devi' and how her name got evolved to her present name ie., 'Ranina

Reddy'. On receiving such documents along with the affidavit, the respondent shall effect the name change in the Official Gazette. The said exercise shall be completed by the respondent within a period of three weeks from the date of the petitioner's representing the dates and events along with the aforesaid documents.
