PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to dispose of the Revision dated 11.02.2008 as against the impugned proceedings of the District Revenue Officer, Tiruvannamalai, bearing Na.Ka.Aa.No.B2/21683/2007 dated 11.01.2008.

O R D E R

The prayer made in this Writ Petition is to issue a mandamus directing the respondent to dispose of the Revision dated 11.02.2008, filed by the petitioner.

2.The case of the petitioner is that she is the absolute owner of an agricultural land situated in Survey No.371/4 at Somasipadi Village, Tiruvannamalai Taluk and District measuring to an extent of 2 Acres, which was purchased for valuable consideration under a registered sale deed dated 02.04.1983. However, there was a complaint as if the aforesaid land belongs to one Adhimuryan @ Periyasamy, who belongs to Scheduled Caste Community, according to whom, he had obtained the aforesaid land by means of an assignment by the Tahsildar, Tiruvannamalai dated 28.02.1928. According to the petitioner, the said assignment was challenged by her by filing an appeal in the year 2007, which was disposed of, by the proceedings dated 11.01.2008, bearing Na.Ka.Aa.No.B2/21683/2007. same is pending, without any progress. Hence, this writ petition.

3.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

4.Considering the limited nature of the relief sought for herein, this Court directs the respondent to dispose of the Revision dated 11.02.2008 filed by the petitioner, if not disposed of earlier, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to all the parties, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
