O R D E R

The present Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to file a final report before the competent court of law in Crime No.548 of 2014.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that one D.Sundarajan has lodged a complaint with the respondent police against the petitioner and others for the alleged offences under Sections 8 and 9 of Tamil Nadu Gambling Act and the same was registered in Crime No.548 of 2014. Though the said complaint was registered as early as on 20.07.2014, till date, final report was not filed. Hence, the present petition.

3. I have heard the learned Government Advocate.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the respondent police to investigate the case in Crime No.548 of 2014 pending on his file and file a final report, if not already filed, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
