The petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to forthwith issue patta in the name of the petitioners for their respective properties in Survey No.171/22 and 171/23 situated at Tharamangalam Village, Omallur Taluk, Salem District by considering and passing orders on the application of the petitioners dated 03.04.2014, reminder dated 07.12.2016 and representation dated 31.03.2017.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that inspite of the petitioners' representations, the respondent has not passed any order so far.

3.Mr.S.Navaneethan, learned Additional Government Pleader taking notice for the respondent submitted that the respondent may be directed to consider the petitioners' representations and pass orders in accordance with law.

4.Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for in the Writ Petition, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the respondent to consider the petitioners application dated 03.04.2014, reminder dated 07.12.2016 and representation dated 31.03.2017 and pass orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With these observations, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
