ORDER

Mrs. Revathi Manivannan, learned standing counsel, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent, and with the consent of both parties, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.

2. This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondent to release the subject goods covered by Bill of Entry Nos.7251254, dated 15.12.2024, and 7394808, dated 22.12.2024, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

3. Eventhough a positive direction is sought for by the petitioner in this writ petition, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice if a direction is issued by this Court to the respondent to consider the request of the petitioner seeking for provisional release of the aforesaid goods within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. A request letter has been made by the petitioner on 28.01.2025 requesting the respondent to release the goods imported by the petitioner vide Bill of Entry Nos.7251254, dated 15.12.2024, and 7394808, dated 22.12.2024. No prejudice will be caused to the respondent if the 2/4

petitioner's request letter dated 28.01.2025 seeking for provisional release of the imported goods is considered on merits and in accordance with law.

Accordingly, this Court directs the respondent to pass final orders on the petitioner's request letter dated 28.01.2025 seeking for provisional release of the imported goods vide Bill of Entry Nos.7251254, dated 15.12.2024, and 7394808, dated 22.12.2024, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's request letter dated 28.01.2025. It is for the respondent to consider the same on merits and in accordance with law. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No Costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are also closed. 17.02.2025 Index: yes/no speaking/non-speaking rkm 3/4
