considering his representations dated 28.03.2014, 17.11.2014 and 09.07.2018.

ORDER

The petitioner's father while serving as a Forest Watcher in Karkudi Range, Muthumalai, died on 27.09.2013, owing to the injuries sustained by him by wild elephant attack. The petitioner had made an application to the respondents on 28.03.2014, seeking for appointment on compassionate ground. Since the application was not acted upon within a reasonable time, the present writ petition has been filed.

Today when the matter was called, learned Special Government Pleader produced the proceedings of the Conservator of Forests, Villupuram Circle in Appointment No.24/2023/B2 dated 11.05.2023, which is pursuant to the proceedings of the second respondent herein in Na.Ka No.36569/2022/S2 dated 20.01.2023. As per the proceedings dated 11.5.2023, the petitioner has been favourably recommended for 2/4

appointment and allotted to Villupuram Circle of the Forest Department. The respondents are yet to pass appropriate orders of appointment.

3. In view of the positive action initiated by the respondents, the present writ petition need not be kept pending. Accordingly, there shall be a direction to the first respondent herein to forthwith pass orders for compassionate appointment in favour of the petitioner herein as expeditiously as possible, in any event, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
